Katie Britt: Not extending Trump tax cuts would cost Alabama families
thousands more every year – ‘actual insanity’

As the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ continues to make its way through Congress, U.S.
Senator Katie Britt believes one of the most important priorities needs to be
extending President Trump’s tax cuts.



“You’ll hear a lot about the extension of the TCJA, that’s the Tax Cuts and
Jobs Act, that’s Trump in his first term, which was passed in in 2017,
obviously we’ll be working to extend those cuts,” Britt said. “If we don’t do
that, that will ultimately be about a $4 trillion tax increase in 2026 on the
American people. So we have to extend these.”

Senator Katie Britt Joins Bipartisan Effort to Recognize Law Enforcement
During National Police Week

U.S. Senator Katie Britt, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, joined a
bipartisan group of lawmakers this week in introducing multiple Senate
resolutions in recognition of National Police Week, held from May 12 to 17.
These efforts aim to honor the nation’s law enforcement officers and promote
increased support for their safety and well-being.

Senator Britt, along with Senator Bill Cassidy and 10 other Senate colleagues,
introduced a bipartisan resolution recognizing law enforcement officers for
their service and commitment to public safety. The resolution also calls for
enhanced health and safety measures for those working in law enforcement.

Transportation Secretary Duffy

Thursday at a U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation,
Housing, and Urban Development hearing, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt urged U.S.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to consider several Alabama priorities,
including widening Interstate 65.

Britt cited Trump's 2023 comments regarding the widening of I-65, Alabama's
most prominent north-south corridor, which stretches from Interstate 10 in
Mobile to the Alabama-Tennessee state line near Ardmore in Limestone County.
