Oklahoma,

We've built President Trump's cabinet; now, we're building the cabinet members' teams. From the minute we touched down in Washington, DC, this week, we were confirming highly qualified, capable individuals to work hand in hand with the president, the cabinet secretaries, and the people. Good leaders know how to delegate, and the Senate GOP is committed to ensuring President Trump's picks are in place.

Last week was heavy on Congressional Review Acts, this week had another focus. We're still on the fastest pace to confirm Cabinet and Sub-Cabinet nominees in over four decades. Right now, we've confirmed 67 nominees at various levels of departments and agencies. We're moving so quickly that we may catch up to the White House nominating them. Leader Thune and the Senate GOP are lockstep with this administration in moving the president's All-Star team from the floor to their positions.

Across the United States, Law Enforcement Officers have been celebrated this week as a part of National Police Week. I wanted to take the opportunity to say THANK YOU for all that you do. They put their lives on the line each day to make sure we get home safely to our families before they go home to theirs. During National Police Week, we recognize the brave men and women of our law enforcement and pay special tribute to officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

I'm going to tell you what the media refuses to, and that's that President Trump is flying around the world to bring investments to America and fighting for fair trade deals. This administration is finally restoring peace through strength. Meanwhile, the legacy media is losing it over a gift from Qatar to the United States. I debunked the left-wing narrative in this week’s wrap up video.

On Tuesday, I detailed the importance of the Port of Catoosa and the critical infrastructure updates that are desperately needed during a nomination hearing in the Senate Armed Services Committee. The 445-mile-long channel is the largest inland water port west of the Mississippi and is vital to not only Oklahoma but to the entire Midwest. Nearly 50% of all agricultural products in the Midwest travel into the Gulf of America, starting right outside of Tulsa, OK. It's a vital, busy, and essential waterway, and its upkeep has been overlooked for decades. Adam Telle, the nominee to be Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, made clear to me after my line of questioning that he would commit to helping us with this channel and that we must make sure infrastructure is put to date.

On Wednesday, I met with the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce to update them on my work in Washington. We discussed the pace the Senate GOP is operating at since President Trump took office, how my committee assignments benefit our state and the region, and how Oklahoma's Congressional delegation is punching above its weight. I appreciate everyone who asked questions and took the time to visit with us.

Recently, the entire Oklahoma congressional delegation sat down for a roundtable discussion with long-time News 9 Washington Bureau Chief, Alex Cameron. During the wide-ranging conversation, we gave an inside look as to how our seven-member Republican delegation is working with the Trump administration and leveraging our committee assignments to deliver big wins for the Sooner State.
