I hope you've had a good week. Here are three things I wanted to share with you.
1. ICYMI: Virtual Town Hall Next Week
On Tuesday, May 20 at 6 pm CT, I'll be holding a virtual town hall live from Washington, D.C., with two subject matter experts. We'll be talking about the Trump-Republican budget and its disastrous consequences for Illinois families.

2. Called Out a Trump Official for Hurting Families
During an Appropriations Committee hearing this week, I called out a member of the Trump administration for their policies that are hurting Illinois families. President Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy are adopting policies that abandon working families who rely on public transportation. If they really cared about helping mothers and children, they would be working with Democrats to advance paid family leave, free childcare, and universal pre-k, not slashing the services they rely on.

3. Announced My Annual Senior Resource Fair
Twice a year, I host Senior Resource Fairs that bring together state, federal, and private resources to help older members of our community. My next event is coming up later this month! Attendees can learn about health care and housing options, get help with veterans' issues, and much more. The event is completely free, and you do not have to register to attend.
The first fair of 2025 will be on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 10 am to 12:30 pm, at Frisbie Senior Center in Des Plaines. To learn more, call my office at (773) 267-5926
