JOHN,
Republicans have been trying to distract the media and the American people while enacting their plans behind closed doors to cut healthcare for working people in order to pay for tax cuts that benefit billionaires and the richest in this country.
They've been denying this plan for months, but it’s always been a part of their playbook. We saw it coming and now it’s here: This week, Republicans released their plan to make significant cuts to Medicaid, the source of health insurance for more than 70 million Americans.
All to put cash in the pockets of billionaires and big corporations.
They are rushing the process, and hoping the American people don’t realize what’s going on, generating headlines with ridiculous bills like the one they passed through the House to rename the Gulf of Mexico. We can’t let them continue these methods of distraction to shield us from the truth.
We will not accept cuts to life-saving programs like Medicaid. We need to fight back.
It’s on us to fight for our middle class Americans and push back against these reckless policies. When we push back, it works, and we need to hold our leaders accountable.
