May 16, 2025
Dear Washingtonians,
Tomorrow marks the official start of WorldPride 2025 in Washington, DC! From May 17 through June 8, we’ll be welcoming visitors from across the country and around the world for a celebration of culture, history, and most importantly, pride.
Washington, DC has long been a leader in LGBTQ+ rights. In fact, this year marks 50 years of annual pride celebrations in DC, making it an especially powerful moment to reflect on our history and show the world our DC values.
WorldPride 2025 is packed with events happening across all eight wards, including festivals, music, dancing, film screenings, and more. Next week, we will raise the Pride flag at the Wilson Building. There’s a Welcome Ceremony and Concert with Shakira at Nationals Park on May 31. And the weekend of June 6 is packed with festivities, including the WorldPride Parade on Saturday, June 7; a music festival at RFK on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7; and the free WorldPride Street Festival and Concert, with performances from Cynthia Erivo, Doechii, and many other artists on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8.
You can check out the full list of events at worldpridedc.org and sign up for alerts by texting WorldPrideDC to 888-777.
