Bloomberg: Trump Tests Appointment Power With Pirro Pick for DC US Attorney [[link removed]]
President Donald Trump’s decision to tap another interim US attorney in Washington tests the bounds of a federal statute governing temporary officials and reflects a growing trend of presidents leaning on temporary appointments for top roles.
Former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro was sworn in as the next interim US attorney for the District of Columbia, after Trump pulled the nomination of Ed Martin, who was unable to be confirmed after he helped pardon January 6th insurrectionists. This position as US Attorney for DC is important because it serves as both the federal prosecutor and the local district attorney in the nation's capital, often handling some of the most impactful cases across the country.
Pirro's qualifications -- aside from serving as the elected district attorney for Westchester County in New York decades ago -- appear to be her unwavering support of Donald Trump on TV and his claims about the 2020 election, which she repeated on air and was named a defendant in the cases Fox News settled with Dominion Voting Systems.
We want to hear from voters in your area about her appointment. Will you take our one-click poll right away?

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
