Working people have been getting a raw deal in this country for decades. For 40 years, the rich have gotten richer, and they've paid less and less in taxes. Meanwhile, everyday Americans are struggling more and more just to get by.
It cannot go on this way.
Tonight, I’m excited to join Working Families Party supporters across the country for a live Q&A to talk about how we are going to take back the White House from Donald Trump by putting working people first.
When Trump ran for office four years ago, he said a lot of things to working people across the country. But he hasn’t delivered on his promises — only for his billionaire buddies.
Working families in this country deserve better — and I know we can give it to them. We’ve already done so much in New York City since I was elected Mayor six years ago. We’ve led the nation by enacting the Green New Deal and establishing universal pre-K, a $15 minimum wage, paid sick leave, guaranteed health care for all, and so much more.
We can do the same thing for this entire country if we are bold enough to lead a movement that puts working people first. That’s what this campaign is about, that’s what the Working Families Party is about, and that’s what I’m excited to talk with you about tonight.
