Over the last several months, countless people -- including President Trump -- have directed racism and bigotry against our Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander friends and neighbors, blaming them for the coronavirus pandemic and subjecting them to harassment and violence.


Along with many of my colleagues, I strongly denounce this hateful behavior. If you agree, click here to sign our petition calling for attention to anti-AAPI hate speech and hate crimes.


I encourage everyone to celebrate the diversity in our communities and honor AAPI heritage, but words alone are not enough. 

 

Eliminating this kind of hatred and xenophobia requires real action, and real efforts to educate ourselves and better our communities.
