Stay Safe from Scammers
As technology continues to change, it is important for Hoosiers to remain vigilant of those who wish to do them harm.
Earlier this week,
fraudulent messages were purportedly sent by state agencies about collecting tolls. These messages are scams, as the state does not send unpaid toll notifications through texts or emails. Anyone who received these messages should not click on any links and should delete the messages.
In addition, in less than two weeks, Indiana will host the largest single-day sporting event in the world. While the
Indianapolis 500 will be a fun-filled day for most attendees, there will also likely be scammers trying to ruin someone's day. If you plan to attend the race this year,
be on the lookout for scammers, and remember if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
