Republicans in Congress are once again choosing the gun lobby over our lives — pushing a nearly $1.5 billion tax break for gun manufacturers by eliminating a critical safety tax on silencers.
Let’s be clear: Silencers make shootings harder to hear, harder to detect, and harder to stop. But instead of strengthening protections, they’re gutting laws that have been on the books for nearly 90 years — all to hand another win to the gun industry.
Just weeks ago, the Trump administration slashed $169 million from Community Violence Intervention programs. Now they’re dismantling safety laws to boost profits.
This is not about freedom. It’s about greed. And it’s proof — again — that these politicians don’t care about protecting America. They care about protecting the gun industry’s bottom line.
If you vote to let silencers flood our streets, you are telling young people that our lives are disposable. But we are not disposable.
We are the generation raised in lockdown drills. We are the largest voting bloc in the country. And we will not stay quiet while our futures are sold off for campaign checks.
We see exactly where they stand. Now let’s show them where we do.
