Team — Last week, reporters asked Speaker Johnson his thoughts about the Qatari government offering a plane to Donald Trump.

His response? He said it’s “not in his lane.’

The Speaker of the House claimed that the Constitution of the United States isn’t his lane.

Every member of Congress makes a sworn oath to the Constitution. The powers of the House are the FIRST thing defined.

Holding the president accountable is literally “in his lane.”

As House Democratic Whip, I know how critical it is for our leaders to uphold the Constitution and fight for the people we represent. Speaker Johnson apparently doesn’t have the same priorities, which is why it’s more important than ever that Democrats take back control of the House and protect the foundation of our democracy.

We've got a long road ahead of us, and many battles to go, but our fight to take back the U.S. House has already begun. It's long past time to elect more people who will put the Constitution first, so can you chip in right away? [[link removed]]
