Wednesday night the U.S. House of Representatives Agriculture Committee’s G.O.P. majority approved slashing SNAP, the main U.S. domestic food assistance program, by $300 billion. The impact will be catastrophic if the bill becomes law, ushering in the greatest hunger crisis in America since The Great Depression.
