Stop the Dirty Budget

Hi John,
Right now, we’re seeing Republican leaders in Congress make their position very clear: they’re willing to let American families pay higher energy bills, face more pollution and see less environmental progress.
This is all part of President Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” but we see if for what it is — the Dirty Budget Bill.
Don’t believe me? Just look at their proposal. Their plan would dramatically defund critical EPA programs meant to protect our communities from health-harming pollution and gut nearly all of the job-creating clean electricity and transportation tax incentives that have helped spur a clean energy boom across the country.
We cannot let this happen and need your help to put a stop to it. Raise your voice now, to ensure that your voice is heard before the House votes on this disastrous bill.
Take action now: Demand your Representative votes “NO” on the Dirty Budget Bill.

If allowed to pass, this bill will repeal critical incentives meant to reduce pollution, lower costs and protect the health of our communities by:
Repealing tailpipe pollution standards that increase fuel economy, reduce air pollution like smog and encourage the transition to pollution-free electric vehicles;
Delaying efforts to stop methane emissions, climate pollutants that are 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide, by giving oil-and-gas companies a 10-year pass on addressing methane waste from leaks and abandoned wells;
Repealing clean energy and transportation tax credits, raising household energy costs by as much as $290, threatening $500 billion in private investment, undercutting innovation and threatening hundreds of thousands of jobs; and
Ending community-level clean air programs meant to reduce harmful air pollution around schools, ports, highways and more...
And it won’t just hurt our health, it’ll hurt our nation’s economy too. Joanna Slaney, EDF’s Vice President for Political and Government Affairs, has taken a close look at their proposal and understands the threat all too well:
“[This bill] pulls the rug out from under businesses and consumers alike. It would increase energy costs, jeopardize jobs, block innovation and cede U.S. manufacturing leadership to other countries while inviting more pollution into our communities.”
But hope isn’t lost. With slim margins in the House, Republicans will be counting on each and every vote to win.
That’s why we need your help. By raising your voice today, you will put much needed pressure on your Representative to do what’s right and stand up for less pollution, cleaner air and cheaper energy prices.
Don’t let President Trump and his allies in Congress gut programs that are already delivering for the American people. Message your Representative today and urge them to vote “NO” on the Dirty Budget Bill!
