Dear Neighbor,
We’re down to the final four days of the 2025 session with time dwindling to pass a complete state budget for the next two-year cycle before our May 19 deadline to adjourn. We are behind schedule and time is tight after House Democrats did not show up for work the first 23 days of this session.
The good news is the House, the Senate and the governor have reached an agreement on an overall budget framework. The legislature will be working through the weekend to sort through the details of budget bills and get as much work done as possible before the deadline.
House Republicans continue focusing on a new state budget that protects family finances, fights fraud, stops wasteful spending and puts the needs of Minnesotans first. I am pleased to report we are in position to secure big wins in each of those regards and I will share more once things are official.
Law enforcement recognition
Thursday was a special day to honor the brave men and women in law enforcement who gave their lives in the line of duty. I’m beyond grateful for their sacrifice and commitment to keeping our communities safe.
I'm proud to stand with our law enforcement officer this National Police Week. Thanks for all you do to keep us safe!
Bringing a little piece of home to St. Paul - Habitat for Humanity
