Even during a global pandemic, Israel’s enemies have not taken a day off. Recently:
Iran carried out a large-scale cyberattack targeting Israel’s civilian water supply, hacking six installations in an attempt to inject deadly levels of chlorine into the Israeli population water supply.
Hezbollah fighters cut holes in Israel’s border fence along the Lebanese border, sending an implicit threat that it could breach the barrier and attack Israel as tensions between Israel and Iran mount.
Palestinian terrorists in Gaza resumed rocket fire at Israel. Even as the world continues to fight the coronavirus pandemic, terrorist groups are spending resources attacking Israelis rather than helping their own people.
We remain hard at work to educate Congress about these dangers and to advance policy to help keep our ally Israel safe, but financial support from activists like you is critical to our efforts.
Your support will help AIPAC work with Congress to ensure $3.3 billion in security assistance for Israel as well as $500 million in lifesaving U.S.-Israel missile defense cooperation for fiscal year 2021.
Your support will also help us work with Congress to enhance U.S.-Israel health cooperation to develop COVID-19 solutions and to demonstrate strong bipartisan support to extend the U.N. arms embargo on Iran before it expires in October.
Congressional support for these initiatives is not a given. But with your help, AIPAC will continue to educate lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Together, we can make a difference.
Sincerely,
Brian Shankman
Director of Regional Affairs and Development
