"Obscenity is 'outside the bounds of the First Amendment,' explained Mike Stabile, director of public policy at adult industry trade organization, the Free Speech Coalition. A national non-profit has filed lawsuits against four adult websites, claiming they violated Kansas’ new age-verification law by failing to block minors from accessing explicit content. The lawsuits were filed after a parent alleged their 14-year-old accessed hardcore pornography online. Kansas’ age-verification law, passed last year, allows parents to sue for damages starting at $50,000 per violation. Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach has also filed a separate lawsuit against a different group of adult websites under the same law. Read more on KSNT.
