Orbis
Elisa Urruchi and Plane
Hi Friend,

Monday was International Nurses Day—a moment to honor the strength, compassion, and dedication of nurses worldwide.

One remarkable nurse is Elisa Urruchi, a Peruvian ophthalmic nurse and infection control specialist who has been part of the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital team since 2011. What began as a volunteer role as a translator quickly grew into a global career in eye care.

On top of training nurses around the world with Orbis, Elisa co-founded South America’s first Ophthalmic Nursing Association—bringing unity and support to her peers in Peru and beyond.

You can read her full story here >>

Her story is a powerful reminder of the difference nurses make every day. Thank you, Elisa, for your passion and leadership.

And of course, thanks to you—our supporters—for helping make this work possible. Without you, nurses like Elisa wouldn’t be able to share their skills and expertise with colleagues around the world.
