Hi John, it’s Shad—

Like many of you, I’ve woken up far more often than not pissed off about the conversations we’re having in this country. How many people are the GOP going to kick off Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for billionaires? How many schools are going to lose funding so that Elon Musk can get another handout?

Let’s be clear: the Democratic Party needs to answer the American people about how we’re going to reshape ourselves and start to fight. While Colorado was a "blue island in a red wave" in 2024, we've been hard at work redesigning and rebuilding our Party to be up for the challenges ahead of us—and I'm really excited to share some of it with you now.

We just renegotiated how the DNC does business and runs its campaigns by sending millions of dollars back down to states— especially red states—instead of high-powered consultant, running regional trainings for Democrats, and decentralizing operations by placing DNC staff across the country.

A few weeks back, we also hosted a People’s Town Hall with Congressman Greg Casar in Colorado’s 8th district for hundreds of voters. We did this because MAGA Gabe Evans refuses to face his constituents in person, and we’re preparing to host more town halls in Republican districts in the months to come to bring people together and highlight the disrespect Republicans have for voters of all political persuasions.

Later this month, we’re having our 8th Annual Obama Gala and 2nd Annual Colorado DemFest, bringing together the Democratic coalition in our state to hear from Senator Elizabeth Warren, union leaders, and activists about how Democrats can fight back with free panels, trainings, and more. This mass mobilization of Democrats is key to strategizing together.

Just the other week, I also called for an urgent redesign of our Party platform to be more clear and concise about who and what Democrats are for, how we deliver our message, and speak to the everyday concerns of Coloradans.

We’re also getting ready to launch our newest campaign: 'A Stronger Colorado', which is designed to activate and engage our grassroots supporters in every corner of our state.

A Stronger Colorado will provide daily bite-sized action items and messaging for volunteers to organize from their own networks — not just a list of strangers — using relational organizing delivered directly to their phones as notifications. By decentralizing our organizing, we are empowering you as the best validator for your community by fitting our campaigns into your life—not the other way around. By organizing in our group chats, comments sections, in the grocery store, at yoga, and in the school pick-up line, we can dramatically scale up our year-round organizing in ways that matter most. When all of us do just a little bit, we can change the world. This is a big change and a huge opportunity to again lead the nation with a new Colorado way of doing things.

I’m incredibly excited about the work our party has ahead of us, but I’m also a little nervous. Hosting these events and launching new initiatives takes a lot of time and resources—resources that we need far sooner than just a few weeks before Election Day if we’re going to put our money where our mouth is and make big changes.

That’s why I’m reaching out, John. It’s the middle of the month, and I want to ask if you would join our party as a monthly supporter. Even $5 a month helps a ton! >>
