John,
Let’s call Trump’s “one big, beautiful” bill what it is: a reverse Robin Hood.
The Reconciliation Bill that Republicans are pushing promotes backwards, out-of-touch policy that ignores the real lives of working families.
This bill punishes poverty and sends a dangerous message: if you are a citizen of this country and you are struggling, you are on your own.
Through their cuts to basic benefit programs, including Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Republicans are taking food and health care away from those who need it most. And they are not doing it because they have to, but because they want to send another tax cut to the wealthy, the well-off, and the well-connected.
I’m fighting these cuts in the House this week, because I believe we should be lifting up families, not trapping them in a cycle of shame and blame.
I am committed to fighting back to ensure we prioritize the livelihoods of people, not just the ultra-wealthy. Will you support me in this fight by donating $5 today?
