As your mayor, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on why I do this work, and why our team shows up every day for Kansas City families.

I was born and raised on the East Side of Kansas City. I’ve lived the challenges many in our city still face. That’s why I’ve dedicated my life to making Kansas City a stronger, safer, and more inclusive place for everyone.

Since 2019, we’ve delivered real results:

- Provided free bus and rail transit
- Resurfaced hundreds of miles of streets and sidewalks
- Created the Kansas City Housing Trust Fund to expand affordable housing
- Put Kansas City on the global map
Despite the chaos in Washington right now, our team is demonstrating that effective local government can still deliver for real people and that we can build a stronger, safer, and more united community.
