Add Your Prayers to a Spiritual Bouquet For Cardinal Burke’s 50th Priestly Anniversary and Birthday

Dear Friend,

“You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” - Hebrews 7:1

This is the verse of the Old Testament that was applied to Jesus Christ, in the book of Hebrews, to emphasize that He was the Eternal Priest. All priests who are ordained in the Catholic Church are heirs to the priesthood of Melchizedek and therefor share in the High Priesthood of Jesus Christ.

That is why it is a very special anniversary for our patron, His Eminence Cardinal Raymond Burke, who will celebrate 50 years of ordination to the sacred priesthood on June 29, the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul. Also this year Cardinal Burke is celebrating 30 years of consecration as a bishop and 15 years as a cardinal serving Holy Mother Church.

Then, the following day on June 30, His Eminence will celebrate his 77th birthday.

For this reason, I would like to invite you to join me and thousands of others in making an outward sign of appreciation for his spiritual support and inspiring leadership in promoting Catholic orthodoxy. I invite you to join with me in presenting His Eminence with a spiritual bouquet of prayers and sacrifices thanking him for his fidelity to Holy Mother Church and supporting him in his great efforts!

Add Your Prayerful Gift to Cardinal Burke’s Spiritual Bouquet!

I am personally grateful that His Eminence has been acting in the person of Christ and giving us the Holy Eucharist for a half century. When we give our spiritual gift to Cardinal Burke, we can think of the words of St. Francis de Sales, who compares a bee gathering nectar to bring to the hive, to a priest carrying the Eucharist to us, the faithful:

O my child, bethink you that just as the bee, having gathered heaven's dew and earth's sweetest juices from amid the flowers, carries it to her hive; so the Priest, having taken the Savior, God's Own Son, Who came down from Heaven, the Son of Mary, Who sprang up as earth's choicest flower, from the Altar, feeds you with that Bread of Sweetness and of all delight.

Please join with me to unite our prayers in this spiritual bouquet as if we are sending a fragrant spray of flowers heavenward, each intertwined with a Holy Mass intention, a Holy Rosary, a Chaplet of Divine Mercy, an hour of Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament or a prayer or meaningful sacrifice of your choice.

Sincerely yours in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
