According to Law360, GOP Senator Chuck Grassley wants to give Trump’s Department of Justice the power to challenge and limit nationwide injunctions issued by courts against the federal government.
Nationwide injunctions are a powerful tool for judges to temporarily stop the Trump administration from enacting unlawful executive actions, like its ban on birthright citizenship.
This is just another part of the MAGA movement’s playbook to weaken the judiciary and give the executive branch more power to enact its far-right, authoritarian agenda.
