We’re halfway through May, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Million in May fundraising campaign is going strong. There’s still plenty of time to make a gift in support of suicide prevention and Mental Health Awareness Month.
When you make a gift to AFSP, your funds go directly toward leading scientific research, public policy and advocacy efforts, education and loss support programs, and so much more. This month, we ask you to consider making a gift of $135 to help us reach our goal of a Million in May, in honor of the 135 people estimated to be directly and personally affected by each individual suicide death.
And thanks to funds from dedicated AFSP volunteer Dr. Kelly Posner Gerstenhaber, Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University, who was awarded The Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service for her work leading to suicide reduction across the nation, your gift will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000 for all donations made now through May 31. That means your contribution today will have DOUBLE the impact.
