We want to share an important update with you—because your support makes The Center’s work possible, especially in times like this.
Just as we prepare for Pride month, a time to honor our community’s resilience and power, we’ve received devastating news: a federal grant supporting our services has been terminated.
We believe this termination is unlawful and are challenging it in court in SFAF v. Trump. A hearing on our Motion for a Preliminary Injunction to stop these cuts is scheduled for Thursday, May 22, 2025. This is the first potential grant termination jeopardizing up to $2 million in federal funding that supports The Center’s essential services.
We’re doing everything we can to protect these lifesaving services. But we can’t do it alone.
While we should be focusing on celebrating our community, we are confronting the harsh reality of cuts to critical programs. This news comes as our community is experiencing heightened threats, intensified attacks, and the rapid erosion of safety nets that so many rely on. The need for The Center’s programs, especially in behavioral health, youth support, HIV services, and case management, has never been more urgent.
