New Grant To Promote Consumption Of Organic Dairy Products

The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) is asking for help to spread the word about this exciting opportunity to promote and increase the consumption of organic dairy among Maine children and young adults. Please share this information within your networks and encourage eligible entities to apply!

Eligible applicants include licensed dairy processors, distributors who primarily serve wholesale and/or institutional buyers, and youth institutions, including K-12 schools, colleges, center-based pre-kindergarten/Head Start programs, and summer feeding programs currently eligible to participate in federal child nutrition programs.

This unique opportunity is part of a national initiative to increase the consumption of organic dairy among children and young adults while supporting small and mid-sized organic dairy producers. Funded projects will address one of the following areas:

  • Expansion of current organic dairy procurement: Existing sourcing of organic dairy products will be supplemented with additional regionally produced organic dairy products
  • Addition of organic dairy products: Institutions that do not currently serve organic dairy products will begin to source and serve regionally produced organic dairy

Grants will range from $50,000 - $500,000 with no match requirement. $1,750,000 is available this round. This is the first of two times that this grant will be offered.

The request for applications will be released on May 27. The application will be open from June 10 to July 31, 2025, at 2 PM ET.
