I stood up for trans kids in Harrisburg and opposed a bill that would ban trans athletes from girls' sports. And for that, I was mocked by Joe Rogan.
I said something simple and true: girls and women are strong, capable, and deserve the same opportunities to compete, thrive, and win.
Right-wing media and internet personalities twisted my words, turning a message of empowerment into a punchline. But let me be clear: I meant every word. And I’m not backing down.
The issue of biological males participating in girls' sports is a made-up issue, pushed for political gain. Why are we wasting time and taxpayer money on this?
Our schools, infrastructure, and working people deserve attention.
Instead of addressing the real issues, we’re forced to engage in divisive conversations that humiliate our trans youth, enforce misogyny, and distract us from the real work of building stronger schools and communities.
This isn’t about following trends or being part of a “woke” echo chamber; it’s about standing up for what’s right, for the athletes who’ve been told they aren’t enough, and for a future where compassion and equity lead the way.
