Yesterday, our CEO, [ [link removed] ]Maria McFarland Sánchez-Moreno, kicked off day one
of American Democracy Summit with an incredibly inspiring speech. She
spoke about growing up in Peru and how it gave her a firsthand look at
what happens when a dictator seizes power—and what it takes for a country
to break free from that grip.
But it was her closing statement that really stuck with us: It is in times
of chaos where the biggest opportunity for change exists.

Right now, our democracy is under attack. But we can’t go back to the
status quo of January 19, 2025. This is our opportunity to imagine, and
build towards, a better system. One that actually works for the people.
