President's Message

May marks National Adolescent Health Month™ (NAHM™), and we are joining the HHS Office of Population Affairs (OPA) to highlight ways parents and caregivers can play a critical role in supporting adolescent health and development. Caring adults ensure that young people are safe and healthy while also helping to equip them with the skills and resources to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. When caring adults are well-informed and well-equipped, they are better prepared to understand the challenges that young people face.

School nurses support adolescents in addressing critical healthcare needs, ensuring students can thrive in the classroom during NAHM™ and beyond. NASN advocates for the well-being and safety of all students and is committed to advocating for health equity for all children and youth in the country.

Be sure to check out all of the School Nurses in the News further down in this issue, which celebrates and acknowledges the accomplishments of school nurses everywhere and their efforts to meet the needs of today’s students.
