Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator, Lee Zeldin, wants to abandon the entire purpose of the agency.

 

Here’s what happened: For more than 50 years, the EPA has been working  to ensure the air we breathe and the water we drink is safe. They’ve been working to slow down the fossil fuel pollution responsible for creating the climate crisis we’re living in right now.

 

This agency puts scientific findings into action, holding polluters accountable when pollutants are scientifically proven to harm human health. 

 

Lee Zeldin, though, wants to unwind dozens of these protections and erase the EPA’s legal authority to protect communities. Instead, he literally wants the agency to focus on increasing fossil fuel use.  So  even as the climate crisis worsens, we’ll also be seeing higher risks of cancer, asthma, brain damage, and many more preventable diseases.

 

ADD YOUR NAME: It is unconscionable to put corporate profits above the fate of the American people’s health and safety. Join us in demanding a reversal of Zeldin’s actions. 

Let’s be clear: This is exactly why Trump picked Lee Zeldin. And as soon as he got the gig, Zeldin went on Fox News and promised to “roll back” the very protections that keep our air and water clean and safe. Now, he’s delivering on that promise.

 

But this isn’t just a game of politics. American lives are on the line. Trump and Zeldin are willing to endanger us and make us sicker, if it makes their Big Oil friends richer. Placing polluter profits above people -- our health and safety and our children’s health and safety -- is unacceptable. Sign your name and demand that the EPA protects communities from pollution.
