*Nancy Vehr Announced as Deputy Director of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality*

*Cheyenne, WY – *The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ) Director, Todd Parfitt, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy Vehr as the agency's new Deputy Director. Vehr, who has served as the WDEQ’s Air Quality Division (AQD) Administrator since 2015, will officially assume the Deputy Director position on May 12, 2025.

“Nancy has been an invaluable member of the WDEQ team for years, and her leadership in the Air Quality Division has been exemplary,” said Director Parfitt. “Her deep knowledge of air quality management, environmental law, and collaborative regional partnerships will be instrumental as she transitions into the Deputy Director role. We are confident that her expertise will continue to benefit the Department and the state as a whole.”

Before joining the WDEQ, Nancy Vehr earned her J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law and spent 10 years at the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, where she represented the WDEQ. Over the years, she has been a leader in the field of air quality, serving as President of the Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies (AAPCA) and President of the Western State Air Resource Council (WESTAR). Vehr currently co-chairs the Western Regional Air Partnership (WRAP), which works to enhance and promote air quality and promote sustainable practices across the western United States.

In her new role, Vehr will continue to fulfill many of the duties of the Air Quality Division Administrator until the position is filled, ensuring a smooth transition and continued leadership in air quality management.

“We are excited for Nancy to take on this new role, and we look forward to her continued contributions to the WDEQ and the state’s environmental initiatives,” Parfitt said.

*About the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ)* The WDEQ is committed to protecting the environment and public health of Wyoming residents by regulating air, water, land, and waste activities.
