We have great news, Friend.

The New York State budget finally passed and includes $50 million in funding for a new rental assistance program that will help New Yorkers who are currently homeless or facing eviction access affordable housing.

This is a major win for the housing movement in New York that’s been years in the making, and we’re proud to be part of this victory.

While this is a great step forward, we know that $50 million for rental assistance is not enough to curb the housing crisis in our state.

The fight for affordable and safe housing for all doesn’t stop with this year’s budget. We need your support in our fight to make sure every New Yorker has a place to call home– will you chip in $15, $25, or any amount you can to help us keep winning our fight for a livable New York and homes for all?

DONATE NOW

Donald Trump’s billionaire-backed attack on our communities includes a plan to cut the federal housing voucher program, which would leave over 10,000 New Yorkers without a home.

That's why $50 million for a statewide rental assistance program is not enough to go against Trump's brazen defunding of housing vouchers. Our communities can’t live on the brink of homelessness for years on end with limited access to help. When it’s time to negotiate the budget for next year, we’re coming back in full force to demand more investment in our housing and futures.

In the meantime, we’re expanding our organizing to Peekskill and Long Island to fight for Good Cause eviction and protect tenants’ rights. This kind of organizing takes major resources to scale up – and the more we can scale our organizing to build power, the more likely we are to win.

Can you chip in now with $15, $25, or any amount you can to scale up our organizing efforts, protect tenants’ rights, and help our movement keep winning?

We’re only able to do this level of organizing with your support – thank you for being in this movement with us.

Let's keep winning,

The NYCC team
