If making a traditional donation isn’t in the cards, here are two other cool ways you can make an impact for animals:
1. Donate stock (and get a tax benefit). Here’s what one donor, Nick, says about it: “I owned stock in a company I used to believe in, but management changed and they didn’t reflect my values anymore. If I’d sold the shares, I would’ve owed a lot of taxes. Instead, I donated the shares and got a tax benefit! The Humane League made it super easy, and my money went twice as far as it would have if I’d kept the profits for myself.”
2. Give from a Donor Advised Fund (DAF). A DAF is like a 401(k), but for charitable giving. When you invest in one, you can deduct your contribution for that tax year and give your money the chance to grow tax-free over time. If you have one, would you consider deploying funds to benefit farmed animals?
Thanks. In uncertain times, the kindness and generosity of this community gives me infinite hope. ❤️

P.S. If you do decide to make a gift of stock, or recommend a gift from your DAF, please email us at [email protected] so we can make sure your gift goes towards the match!

Hi there,
Streamlined. Efficient. Strategic. A well-oiled machine. These are all words you could use to describe a modern-day factory farm—rows of cages stretching as far as the eye can see, with every millimeter of space optimized. Operations meticulously planned down to the second, for maximum cruelty and maximum profit.
Streamlined. Efficient. Strategic. A well-oiled machine. These are also words you could use to describe our movement. And to be as effective as possible for the animals, we need your help.
To tackle industry behemoths, we’re beating them at their own game. We stretch every dollar to its absolute limit—not in service of cruelty, but in service of compassion. We have zeroed in on the most effective strategies we’ve found. And it’s working: Already, over 40% of US hens are living outside cages, compared to just 5% when we started our corporate campaigns.
“Battery cages” represent everything that’s wrong with factory farming. They’re the inevitable end result of a system that places profit above all else. But while the industry remains laser-focused on their bottom line, you and I are laser-focused on something far more important: creating a world where no animal has to suffer at the hands of humans.
We won’t stop until we get there. Will you double your impact with a matched gift today?
For the animals,
