The LGBTQ+ community makes up 9.3% of the US population, yet only 0.16% of donations go to LGBTQ+ organizations...in a good year. The new Fund for Queer Causes is one easy and powerful way you can help close that gap for DMV-based nonprofits. Mental health professionals SC Nealy (LGBT+ Counseling Collaborative), Timothy Elliott (Timothy Q. Elliott, MSW LLC), and representatives from He She Ze and We and Safe Space NOVA will discuss the unique challenges LGBTQ+ folks face with mental health and barriers to mental health care, as well as resources and strategies for improving your mental health as an LGBTQ+ person.
