House Republican shreds MTG in nasty social media spat: "The Jewish Space Laser lady once again doesn't have a clue"
Everyone knows that only the most important issues affecting ordinary Americans fire up Republicans, which is why a huge feud exploded between New York Rep. Mike Lawler and QAnon Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene over, uh, state and local tax deductions. Lawler has come out as a "no" on Trump's disastrous tax cut bill, not because it would kick 8 million people off of Medicaid, but because he won't accept a state and local tax (SALT) cap deduction increase from $10,000 to $30,000 per year, because it's not enough. “Mike Lawler usually isn't the guy in the conference with the best ideas, after all we lost a Republican held seat to a Democrat the last time Republicans voted for one of his 'great' strategy [sic]," complained Greene. "And Mike Lawler has a toss up seat. What’s the point in Republicans fighting to protect and keep re-electing 'Republicans' if they constantly undermine the agenda America voted for???" Lawler fired back: "Shockingly the 'Jewish Space Laser' lady once again doesn't have a clue what she is talking about. By the way, the reason you enjoy a gavel is because Republicans like me have won our seats. Good luck being in the Majority if we don't." Perhaps, Marjorie, it's because this is not the agenda America voted for.

Rear Admiral Eileen Laubacher aims to sink Lauren Boebert's career
Eileen for Colorado: MAGA extremist Lauren Boebert represents everything that’s wrong with the modern GOP. A Trump sycophant who rubber-stamps the worst of his excesses — when she’s not making a fool of herself in House hearings or getting thrown out of children’s theater productions — Lauren Boebert barely survived her last election, winning by only 594 votes. Her conduct in Congress has inspired former National Security Council member Rear Admiral Eileen Laubacher to run for Congress, flip her VERY winnable seat blue, and restore our congressional majority! Will you make a donation and help jump-start her campaign?
House Democrat admits it's "obvious now" Biden was "not in a condition to run" for re-election
Rep. Ro Khanna urged his colleagues to "be honest with people about our party’s mistake" on Wednesday after admitting it was "obvious now" that former President Joe Biden was "not in a condition to run" for re-election. "To rebuild trust, Democrats must be honest. In light of the facts that have come out, Joe Biden should not have run for reelection, and we should have had an open primary," said Khanna in response to CNN host Jake Tapper’s new book documenting Biden’s declining health during the 2024 election. In his book, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, Tapper revealed that Biden staffers had discussed putting the former president in a wheelchair as his health continued to decline. The book also documents the decline of Biden’s cognitive acuity, recalling one incident where Biden failed to recognize ally and Hollywood actor George Clooney. Give Khanna and his colleagues the benefit of the doubt or don't on this one, but anyone who watched the infamous June 2024 debate between Biden and Trump knows the former president wasn't simply jetlagged, suffering from a cold, or just having an off night.

Now Kristi Noem wants her own pricey new private jet for Homeland Security
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has made a last-minute addition to the Coast Guard's budget, a teeny weeny $50 MILLION dollars for a Gulfstream private plane to ferry her around while she puts on her cosplay photoshoots. "I was horrified last Friday when we received a last-minute addition to your spend plan for Fiscal ‘25 — a new $50 million Gulfstream V for Secretary Noem’s personal travel coming from the Coast Guard budget," Democratic Rep. Lauren Underwood stated in a session with acting Coast Guard Chief Admiral Kevin Lunday. "She already has a Gulfstream V, by the way. This is a new one," the Democrat added.

Enormous brooding banner of Trump now hangs next to Lincoln outside Department of Agriculture
Sure, it may give off Orwellian, autocratic, wannabe-dictator strongman vibes, but, like, that's just because you're, ya know, paying attention and have seen strikingly similar behavior from other autocratic, strongman regimes in North Korea, Syria, Iraq, and the like.
US and Iran close to nuclear deal, Trump says
Iran is ready to sign a nuclear deal with Trump with certain conditions in exchange for lifting economic sanctions, per a top advisor to the Ayatollah. Bloomberg TV correspondent Annmarie Hordern pointed out that it is "unclear what makes this proposal different from the JCPOA," the landmark nuclear deal negotiated by President Obama. So you blow up Obama's deal for no reason, do nothing, then propose the same deal again after years of worry and needless tension? Art of the deal, indeed!

Trump denies immigrants their fundamental rights
MoveOn: Donald Trump’s administration is flagrantly and cruelly violating the constitutional rights of innocent migrants whose only crime is being born in the wrong geographic coordinates. Just weeks ago, three U.S. citizen children from two different families were deported with their mothers, and one of them is a 4-year-old with Stage 4 cancer. People are being arrested by ICE, their families ripped apart and their children—regardless of their citizenship— kidnapped and sent to countries they’ve never called home, without any kind of due process. This needs to end, NOW. Add your name to demand the Trump administration respect the fundamental rights of immigrants in America!
17 family members of notorious cartel leader "El Chapo" enter US in deal with Trump administration, Mexico says
Mexico's security chief confirmed Tuesday that 17 family members of cartel leaders crossed into the United States last week as part of an arrangement between a son of the former head of the Sinaloa Cartel and the Trump regime. Ovidio Guzmán Lopez, one of the brothers left running a faction of the ultraviolent Sinaloa Cartel after notorious capo Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán was imprisoned in the US, has apparently struck some kind of deal with the MAGA cult leader's administration granting safe passage into the US for a gaggle of family members, who simply walked across the border from Tijuana, suitcases in hand, to waiting US agents. Anyone else recall a certain red-hatted fella screaming incessantly about the murderers and drug dealers Mexico purportedly keeps sending north to wreak havoc in America and kill our children? Peculiar, no?
GOP bill straight out of Project 2025 would make pornography a federal crime
GOP Sen. Mike Lee reintroduced an incredibly dangerous bill earlier this month that would broadly redefine what content can be classified as "obscenity" in an attempt to criminalize pornography. It sounds like it was ripped straight from the pages of the Project 2025 blueprint because, well, it was. In the 920-page playbook, the Heritage Foundation claimed pornography "has no claim to First Amendment protection" and should be outlawed. "The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered," text from Orwellian fever dream manifesto reads. Lee’s bill would conveniently broaden the legal definition of "obscenity," which is not protected by the First Amendment, to ANY material that "appeals to the prurient interest" in nudity or sex, "depicts, describes or represents" sexual acts and "taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value." Definitely nothing deeply problematic about letting radical, ultra-religious, right-wing indeologues redefine "pornography," decide what "appeals to the prurient interest" of others, and persecute and prosecute librarians and teachers. How soon before we bring back witch trials and start burning people at the stake?
Trump's Qatari 747 may need fighter escorts to serve as Air Force One
We know you've heard a LOT about the mindbogglingly brazen bribe Donald Trump is set to accept from the Qatari royal family, emoluments clause in the Constitution be damned, but the utter impracticality of turning a foreign luxury jumbo jet into a suitable "flying White House" cannot be overstated. In addition to the hundreds of millions of dollars and years of work it may take to retrofit the $400 million Boeing 747 into something resembling a secure Air Force One, it's now being reported that fighter jets may well have to escort the plane wherever it goes because, well, anti-missile and nuclear-strike defense systems aren't aftermarket upgrades you can just tack on like an AutoZone spoiler on a tricked out Honda Civic. No matter, if the MAGA cult leader wishes, he apparently can waive away any and all security measures and accept the risk of flying without actual Air Force One security precautions in place, needlessly exposing the United States to unthinkable susceptibility from bad actors who just might wanna take a big swing. What the f*ck are we doing here?

Musk’s AI Grok bot rants about "white genocide" in South Africa in unrelated chats
The fundamental problem with allowing tech overlords to maintain personal control over the language-learning machines commonly known as "AI" made itself very clear on Wednesday, as Elon Musk's "Grok" AI bot suddenly began responding to questions with discussions of "white genocide in South Africa" and the evils of the "Kill the Boer" chant. At one point, the chatbot even asserted that it had been "instructed by my creators" to accept the imaginary genocide "as real and racially motivated." The "white genocide in South Africa" is a white supremacist conspiracy theory that the world's richest man-toddler adheres to — and is now trying to use his AI tools to convince others of this false reality. Legislation now, please!
