It seems like every day, federal employees in Virginia are waking up to chaos and uncertainty. This time, sparked by a late-night directive from Elon Musk in his new role overseeing the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk ordered sweeping changes across federal agencies without a clear plan or timeline, leaving employees in the dark and local economies on edge. Now, agencies have no clear guidance, and employees have no accurate information on what to expect next. This is unacceptable.

Governor Youngkin has made it clear that he’s fine with Virginians losing their jobs, and I couldn’t DISAGREE more. Slashing federal jobs doesn’t ‘drive efficiencies’—it devastates families, local businesses, and our economy. It’s a decision that puts people’s livelihoods in jeopardy, and I won’t stand for it.
Virginia deserves leaders who fight for the people of our state—not those who go soft while our jobs disappear. As your Lieutenant Governor, I will always fight to protect you, no matter what happens in Washington.
We need leaders who prioritize the well-being of Virginians over partisan games. I will never stop working to ensure that Virginia’s families, workers, and communities are supported, no matter the challenges we face.
