A year later, this headline from LGBTQ Nation is still horrifyingly and terrifyingly real. There are people out there who really think this - and even worse, many of them are currently elected officials. And they're hell-bent on passing bills that ban Pride Month, attack LGBTQ+ kids and strip away our rights.

We're not being alarmist. The Supreme Court has shown they won't be protecting the right to choose OR the right to privacy. It's been another record-breaking year of anti-LGBTQ+ bills in the state legislatures, and many have been introduced in the U.S. House. Our candidates are being harassed when knocking doors on the campaign trail and some are receiving death threats online. This is a toxic political environment for LGBTQ+ people - and candidates.

But despite the barrage of hate, these leaders still stepped up to run. They're incredibly brave, and they're ready to defend our rights.
