From milking cows as a kid before the sun rises... to... well, milking cows before the sun rises and representing District 22 in Washington now. 

I don't know if you know this, John, but my mother and father are Portuguese immigrants who came to the Central Valley in search of a better life. 

They didn't have much when they built our farm in 1973, but they had grit, faith, and an unwavering belief in the American Dream.
