De-funding Planned Parenthood
Today, the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee approved the reconciliation bill (The One, Big, Beautiful Bill) that includes pro-life language to block Medicaid from reimbursing Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers. The legislation advanced out of committee in a 30-24 vote after a 26-hour mark-up that began on Tuesday and included several attempts to amend the bill to remove the pro-life language. Those attempts all failed!
Now that the Energy and Commerce Committee has approved the bill, it is scheduled to be taken up by the House Budget Committee on Friday. Once approved by the Budget Committee, it would go to the Rules Committee and then to the full House for a vote. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is dedicated to make this happen with the pro-life language intact and has publicly stated his goal is to pass the bill out of the House by Memorial Day.
After a full House vote of approval, the reconciliation bill would then move to the Senate where we can expect many procedural twists and turns.
Regardless, our message to Congress remains the same: End the Forced Taxpayer Funding of Abortion and Defund the Abortion Industry in this reconciliation bill.
For the first time in our lifetimes, we have the greatest chance to take $500,000,000 out of the abortion industry’s coffers - for 10 years! That would be a death knell to Big Abortion and send them into further chaos. Planned Parenthood cannot survive without their Medicaid scheme.
CALL TO ACTION:
Contact your Congressman and Senators and positively - but strongly - encourage them to pass the reconciliation bill with the pro-life language included - no exceptions. They need to hear from you, their constituents. They need to feel the pressure from you. Ask your circle of influence, your family & friends, to do the same!
Through your action and God’s grace and mercy on America, we can stop Planned Parenthood in its tracks.
