Democratic Party leadership spent the first quarter of Trump’s second
presidency standing by and watching him rip away our rights, jail student
activists, deport immigrants without due process, and hand the federal
government over to corporate interests.

The final straw? Trump accepting a luxury jet from the government of
Qatar. Only now is Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer pausing the
confirmation of Trump nominees.

[ [link removed] ]A post on X from NBC Politics (@NBCPolitics): BREAKING: Sen. Schumer
says he is placing a hold on all of President Trump's DOJ nominees in
response to the 'deeply troubling' plan for the administration to accept a
luxury jet from Qatar to be used as Air Force One.

Why did it take 113 days into this administration for Schumer and Senate
Democrats to act?

This free private jet from a foreign government is no doubt just another
example of Trump selling out access to the White House to the highest
bidders, but he has been doing this and Democratic leaders should have had
the courage to act as an opposition party from Day 1.

Justice Democrats has taken on the ineffective, out-of-touch establishment
since our founding in 2018, and we’re keeping it up by recruiting and
supporting a new generation of progressive, working-class candidates to
challenge Do-Nothing Democrats in the next primary elections.
