Legislation Happening in Washington, D.C.

H.R. 2243, the LEOSA Reform Act

The bill will allow trained professionals to respond quickly to emergencies in public spaces—improving public safety.

H.Res. 364 – Calling upon local communities to support organizations that provide resources and aid Gold Shield Families in their time of need

This bill calls upon local communities to support organizations that provide resources and aid Gold Shield Families in their time of need.

H.R. 2255 – Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act of 2025

This bill allows Law enforcement officers the opportunity to purchase the service weapon they used while serving in law enforcement. Federal agencies are currently required to destroy unneeded firearms, wasting millions of taxpayer dollars. American taxpayers should not be forced to pay twice for the same firearm. H.R. 2255 would allow a current or former federal law enforcement officer in good standing to purchase a retired service weapon at salvage value from the federal agency that issued the service weapon to the officer. Current federal regulations require all federal agencies, such as the U.S. Secret Service or U.S. Customs and Border Protection, to destroy their weapons after they are retired from official use.
