John,
House Republicans are ready to pass a bill that will entrench the Trump Tax Scam at the expense of the rest of us.
This morning, the House Ways and Means Committee passed its tax bill, which includes massive tax giveaways to the wealthy and corporations while taking the Child Tax Credit away from 4.5 million children1 and leaving out another 20 million children in the lowest income families from the full CTC going forward.2 And just a few minutes ago, the House Energy and Commerce Committee passed their bill with $715 billion in cuts to Medicaid.3 The House Agriculture Committee is still debating their bill to cut almost $300 billion in cuts to SNAP,4 with final passage expected later today. Next week, the House will combine these bills to try to fast-track cuts to critical human needs programs.
This House package will be catastrophically harmful to tens of millions of Americans across the country, and now is the time for us to stand united across communities, ring the alarm, and sink this bill.
RSVP for a virtual rally on Monday, May 19th, to stop the House Reconciliation bill. The bill would cut funding for human needs programs to pay for billionaire tax cuts.

Our friends at Americans for Tax Fairness said it clearly:5
“In its entirety, this reconciliation package proposes perhaps the most radical transfer of wealth from low and middle income families to wealthy households in American history. It does this by stripping Medicaid coverage from almost 14 million Americans; making huge cuts to SNAP for seniors, veterans, and children; and raising the monthly costs of student loans for millions of borrowers–all to finance new tax breaks mostly for the rich. With the cost of healthcare, housing, education, and other essentials already too high and going higher, financing new tax breaks to wealthy individuals and large corporations by gutting programs that help Americans afford their basic needs would be a catastrophic mistake.”
Join us on Monday, May 19th from 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM ET/4:30 PM - 5:30 PM PT, where we will:
