FIRST: Trump ordered Republicans to slash Medicaid by $880 billion to give tax breaks to his billionaire donors.

THEN: Democrats warned that these cuts would devastate Medicaid and rip away lifesaving health care from millions of Americans. So, Republicans denied that they were cutting Medicaid even as they voted to advance Trump's cruel budget calling for exactly that.

NOW: After months of lies – Republicans have finally released the details of their budget, revealing what we’ve known all along – Medicaid is on their chopping block.

We need to step up ASAP to BLOCK the Republicans’ plans to destroy health care for millions of Americans – all to give massive tax breaks to their billionaire MAGA donors.

This is dire. Here’s what would happen if Republicans get their way with devastating cuts to Medicaid:

• 13.7 million people would lose their insurance, hitting the most vulnerable Americans the hardest. Older adults and people with disabilities, who account for over half of Medicaid spending, would face significant risks, specifically in losing access to long-term care services like nursing homes or home-based care. Children, veterans and low-income families could also lose critical, lifesaving health care.
• Hospitals and nursing homes would face a drastic reduction of services and possible closure from funding reductions, especially in rural and underserved areas where over half of their revenue often comes from Medicaid.
• Loss of coverage could lead people with chronic conditions like cancer and diabetes to go without treatment, suffer devastating health outcomes and rack up medical debt. And cuts would disproportionately affect low-income, rural, Black, Latino, and Indigenous populations – reversing our progress in reducing these disparities.

Make no mistake – Republicans know Americans overwhelmingly reject these cuts. Polls show 80% of Americans support Medicaid.

That’s exactly why they’ve been lying to the American people about what they are planning to do to please Donald Trump and his rich MAGA donors. But the numbers are on our side.

I know we have what it takes to defend Medicaid, protect critical health coverage for millions of Americans, and fight for the most vulnerable among us against the billionaire-backed Republicans. But only if we band together.
