John,
The GOP’s plot to take health care and food away from millions of working families — and put the extra money into billionaire’s pockets — is entering its final phase.
This week, House committees began making their final edits and adjustments, with an ultimate goal of pushing the budget through the House before Memorial Day.1
Those edits are now officially on paper, and they are disastrous.
According to research gathered from the Congressional Budget Office, 13 million people would lose their health care coverage under this Republican budget.2
Thirteen million.
We only have a few days before the full Congress is set to vote on these cuts. Join an emergency Mass Call TOMORROW, May 15th at 8pm ET / 5pm PT, to hear how you can help ramp up pressure on Republicans and prevent them from stealing our health care. RSVP here:

If this budget passes, countless rural hospitals that rely on Medicaid funding to stay open will likely be forced to shut down or reduce their services.3
And an enormous strain will be put on state budgets, forcing them to reduce or eliminate other programs that families need too.4
This budget would be an unmitigated disaster for the actual people in our country, all because a bunch of billionaires want Trump to subsidize their yacht collection.
Moments like these demand action from all of us, John.
We’ve already been hitting the streets and the phone lines non-stop since Trump took office. Millions showed up to the national Hands Off! protests. Hundreds of thousands marched on May Day. And we’ve been showing up at town halls, Congressional offices, and phonebanks virtually every day.
But we all need to redouble our efforts between now and Memorial Day.
Families are already being forced to stretch every dollar in response to Trump’s pillaging.
Now they’re on the verge of throwing even more of us into debt, all to give their donors an even larger slice of the pie.
We have to stop them. RSVP for Thursday’s mass call and join health care professionals, labor leaders, organizers, and working people from across the country to learn more about how you can help save Medicaid in the coming days.
More from us soon,
Team WFP
