Dear Friend,

Today is my birthday, and I’d like to share my wish with
you.

I was 24 when my son Andrew and his twin sister Hilary were born. (No need
to do the math from there!)

I couldn’t be prouder of both of my children. As a social worker, I raised
them not only to care about others but also to take action.

That’s what Andrew is doing right now, by running for the Senate. I’m a
little biased, but I can’t think of anyone better suited for this job—or
with a bigger heart for public service.

Andrew and Hilary have both followed in my footsteps, taking jobs in
education and mental health. They’ve always sought to make a difference in
the world.
