Congressional Republicans are finalizing their budget that would kick tens of millions of people off of Medicaid and SNAP―cruelty that is meant for one purpose: to pay for trillions of dollars in tax cuts for billionaires like Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

A new report from the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services states that up to 750,000 Michiganders could lose access to lifesaving healthcare. But these proposed cuts will impact us all.

Cuts to Medicaid will result in closures of rural hospitals, drug treatment programs, nursing homes, and reduce access to mental health services―making it harder for everyone to access the healthcare they need.

More than 40% of births in the U.S. are covered by Medicaid, including roughly 50% of births in rural areas. Medicaid also covers more than 60% of nursing home care.

Together, we’re fighting side-by-side against Republicans’ cruel Medicaid cuts that would devastate families, seniors, and people with disabilities.
