Right now, billions of birds are migrating across the United States, sometimes as many as 500 million in a single night. Act now so they can safely complete their annual journeys.

Our neighborhoods not only offer safe passage for migrating birds, but also provide critical places for birds to rest, nest, and feed. With bird populations down 30 percent since 1970, it’s essential for us to pass legislation that gives our communities the tools we need to create healthy bird habitat in our cities and towns.

The Local Communities and Bird Habitat Stewardship Act does just this. The bill benefits habitats by improving local parks, reducing hazards to birds in urban environments—such as collisions with buildings—and engaging communities with birds and nature. At a time when a changing climate and habitat loss threaten the health of bird populations and our communities, conserving and improving natural spaces in our neighborhoods is essential to our shared future.

Act now and urge your U.S. Representative to support the Local Communities and Bird Habitat Stewardship Act so we can protect our nation’s birds and communities.
