John,
Hey Manassas Park friends!
Sincere apologies for double email - the link below has been corrected!
We need your voice at the table.
On Sunday, May 18th, we’re bringing together advocates, organizers, and everyday people who are ready to Rise & Resist against attacks on our trans and LGBTQ+ communities. This isn’t just another meeting—this is where we build the power to fight back.
Special Guests:
We're excited to welcome six dedicated elected officials who will join us at the upcoming Rise & Resist session to hear directly from LGBTQ+ community members and allies in our region. These leaders will share brief updates on LGBTQ+ rights and reaffirm their commitment to standing with our communities:
Mayor Alanna Mensing (she/her)
Vice Mayor Darryl Moore (he/him)
Senator Danica Roem (she/her)
Senator Jeremy McPike (he/him)
Delegate Josh Thomas (he/him)
Delegate Michelle Maldonado (she/her)
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, share your story, and shape the future of LGBTQ+ advocacy in Virginia.

Equality Virginia’s LGBTQIA+ Organizing Series brings together community members, advocates, and allies from across the state to discuss the everyday challenges and policy needs affecting LGBTQIA+ people.
During these events, you can expect to:
* Learn about the state of LGBTQIA+ rights in Virginia.
* Hear about Equality Virginia's advocacy & organizing goals for 2025 and 2026.
* Share your story about everyday challenges impacting you and your community!
* Find your place in the movement!
* Meet, build, and grow community together to fight back!
Part of our focus will be to listen & help inform our 2026 legislative agenda based on your community's needs, and build local LGBTQIA+ organizing infrastructure. These regional conversations create space for sharing lived experiences, identifying key issues, and strengthening connections across communities.
Whether you're a seasoned advocate or just fired up and ready to do something—this space is for you. Please reach out to [email protected] to gain access to our social media toolkit with graphics to share to your network.
Bring a friend. Bring your rage. Bring your love for this community. Just don’t miss it.
In community,
