Dear John,
No one should be surprised by the shock and awe inflicted on this country by the current administration each day, since the actions were long ago described in Project 2025. As a blueprint for the edicts issued to date, Project 2025 allows us to anticipate the administration’s next steps as they undermine our democratic institutions and our hard-won freedoms and opportunities.
Yet even as nearly half of the Project 2025 agenda has been implemented through Presidential Executive Orders and resulting agency policies, denial of its ties to the President’s actions is the order of the day. The President stated on Truth Social that he knew nothing about Project 2025. When a reporter observed to a White House spokesperson that seven of the President’s first ten Executive Orders matched recommendations from Project 2025, the response was that the President was not following anyone else’s playbook.
The administration does not want the public to understand the connection because Project 2025 is the blueprint they are following as they dismantle government and create a society with no tolerance – nor help – for immigrants, those most in need, and those who disagree with their dictates. Their war on DEI is simply a way to prioritize the hiring of white people, regardless of competency, and their war on climate allows the dismissal of scientific facts that fail to serve the interests of their wealthy business benefactors.
LDAD has been and will continue its dogged efforts to demonstrate how the interdependence between Project 2025’s mandate and the actions of the past months matters in profound ways to everyone in this country.
Last year, LDAD developed a series of Talking Points about some of the more pernicious aspects of Project 2025. We were overwhelmed by the response to that work and are deeply grateful to Hollywood Designer Eric Fraser for recently taking our Talking Points and creating an elegant PDF document that is available as a resource on our website. Please see: Project 2025 Talking Points [[link removed]] .
Our ongoing series in the Fulcrum analyzes the onslaught of executive edicts arising from Project 2025 and offers a detailed analysis of why it matters. Please see: The Impact of President Trump’s Executive Actions [[link removed]] .
We invite you to periodically check the “In the News” tab on our website, which includes links to articles by and interviews with LDAD leaders. Most recently, board chair and LDAD co-founder Scott Harshbarger was quoted in coverage of Law Day, and executive director Lauren Stiller Rikleen was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article addressing administration attacks on the legal profession:

P.S. We are living in extraordinary times that require constant advocacy to prevent our democracy from further backsliding. We all must ensure that there will be many more Law Days ahead where we can celebrate the triumph of the rule of law in our country. LDAD’s work depends solely on individual contributions like yours.
