Republicans are scared. They think this could be the election that we turn Georgia BLUE once and for all. They’re so scared, in fact, that the National Republican Senatorial Committee put up a billboard in Atlanta calling Teresa “too liberal for Georgia” – more than 14 months out from election day.

Washington Republicans know the only chance they have of saving David Perdue’s seat is by smearing me as too liberal, too radical, or as a socialist to divide people up. Because when they are trying to take away your rights, and we’re fighting to protect them, it’s clear who is on the people’s side.

For example, David Perdue is working every day to restrict women’s reproductive freedom — from supporting Georgia’s abortion ban, to introducing similar legislation in the Senate, to confirming anti-choice federal judges. And his allies in DC have the gall to call the women fighting for access to reproductive healthcare the radical ones.

So I have a few things to say when Republicans come after me for standing up for reproductive freedom:
Demanding that women be guaranteed access to an abortion as is our constitutional right isn’t too liberal for Georgia.
Standing up to patriarchal politicians and conservative Supreme Court nominees who threaten to take that right away isn’t too liberal for Georgia.

Repealing the Hyde Amendment so women on Medicaid can have equal access to an abortion isn’t too liberal for Georgia.
