Dear SPUC supporter,
Let me tell you the true story of a soldier who served his country, only to be told to kill himself.
After two tours of duty in Afghanistan, David Baltzer was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. He reached out to the government agency meant to help him. “I was at my lowest point,” he said. “It was just before Christmas.”
But instead of receiving the care he desperately needed, the official assigned to David’s case made a chilling suggestion:
“You’ve tried all this and nothing seems to be working — but have you thought about medical-assisted suicide?”
This is just one of many horror stories coming out of Canada.
But if we don’t stop assisted suicide laws, these shocking cases will happen here too.
Yesterday, the Scottish Parliament narrowly voted for the McArthur assisted suicide Bill at Stage 1, by just eight votes.
Meanwhile, the Leadbeater Bill, which would legalise assisted suicide in England and Wales, is approaching its final vote in the House of Commons.
We can and MUST defeat both Bills.
But we’re still short of our May fundraising goal — and time is running out.
We cannot allow British soldiers to be treated as David Baltzer was.
Please donate to SPUC today, and help us build a Britain fit for heroes to live in — not to die in.

John Deighan
